Multimarket Trading Strategy of a Hydropower Producer Considering Active-Time Duration: A Distributional Regression Approach

This article presents a new approach for finding the optimal multimarket trading strategy of cascaded hydropower plants (HPPs) in sequential electricity markets. These markets are day-ahead energy market, market frequency containment reserve normal mode (FCR-N), and manual restoration both production capacity reserve. The active-time duration (ATD) an mFRR offer is important required parameter it uncertain at time offer-function submission. Hence, we suggest distributional regression ATD modeling setup. Also, modified machine learning proposed to generate price scenarios taking into account parameters. To illustrate our approach, various numerical experiments performed.
